The Ferbo fixed drum, FA and FB series, is a piece of equipment for agricultural irrigation from the FerboRain range, available in configurations tailored to different surfaces and water requirements. Unlike the rotating drum, the fixed model is not mounted on a turntable and maintains its axial position relative to the supporting frame.
The galvanised construction, turbine system and rewinding speed control support uniform irrigation and reduce maintenance requirements. The Ferbo FA and FB series differ mainly in hose size, working length and rewinding method, so the choice of model must be made according to the irrigated area and the farm's requirements.
The Ferbo hard hose reel is built on a hot-dip galvanised chassis, with anti-corrosion treated mechanical parts. The transmission system, turbine and hose laying mechanism are designed for stable operation and uniform control of the irrigation process.
The Ferbo hose reel stands out for its robustness and operational reliability. The core of the reel is made of calendered sheet metal rather than slats, eliminating the risk of damaging the polyethylene pipe during rewinding. The large-diameter transmission wheels reduce stress on the gearbox and improve drive efficiency.
The water inlet system is made with a nylon bushing, a maintenance-free solution that provides greater water passage than traditional bearing systems, contributing to lower pressure losses. The flexible connection allows quick access for checking and replacing seals.
The Ferbo turbine, designed on the basis of centrifugal rotors, ensures minimal pressure losses (up to 0.2 bar at re-derodisation speeds of 25-30 m/h) and a very low risk of clogging thanks to the self-cleaning system.
The Ferbo FA and FB series meet different irrigation requirements. The FA series is the more compact option, suitable for small surfaces and horticultural or forage applications, while the FB series offers a higher capacity and allows the use of larger diameter and longer hoses.
Choosing a fixed irrigation reel must be done according to the area to be irrigated, the existing crop, the water source and pressure, the required hose length and the desired mode of operation. The Ferbo FA is the more compact option, suitable when a hose of up to 125 m and manual rewinding are sufficient. The Ferbo FB allows lengths of up to 150 m, larger hose diameters and power take-off rewinding, for situations where higher flow rates and pressures are required.
